Project Description
November is Diabetes Month, and on November 14 DIABETES DAY is celebrated around the world in an aim to raise awareness among the public about prevention and about the disease in general. The number of people with diabetes is increasing worldwide and the issue of a better quality of life constitutes a priority for the diabetic community.
Supporting a person with diabetes is vital, and the family plays a dominant role at all stages of the disease, as they are the ones who lay the foundations for a healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet and increased physical activity. Additionally, the family may contribute to the management of the daily medical needs of the person with diabetes, as well as monitoring their blood sugar readings but also encouraging maintenance of a balance in both diet and exercise.
The role of the family is also important in terms of psychological support for the individual, especially if the individual in question is a child, so that he/she is not marginalized but rather feels a sense of security.
Finally, but equally essential, is the role of the family in the education of both caregivers and the diabetic, as knowledge constitutes the basis of both prevention and effective treatment across all levels (physical, psychological, social).
Sweet & Balance products are allies of both the family and individuals with diabetes, as they support their effort by continually presenting new, enjoyable options * and thus helping them stay committed to a proper diet, without getting tired and giving up, for a longer period of time. JOTIS Sweet & Balance is the first complete range of sugar-free desserts with a natural sweetener extracted from the stevia plant, a low glycemic index, low in calories and fats, and that has over 30 tasty options for those who have to live without sugar but can’t and don’t have to live without sweets.
* They can be eaten as a part of a varied and balanced diet and healthy lifestyle
